Huerta’s absence represents a notable adjustment for Aguirre, who had planned to use the winger in Mexico’s two key friendlies during the September FIFA window.
Mexico’s national team will see the return of Hirving Lozano and Diego Lainez for the upcoming FIFA international window, with both attackers earning a call-up after more than a year away from the squad.
The national team will face Japan on Saturday in Oakland, California, and South Korea on Sept. 9 in Nashville, Tennessee.
